Advocacy Resources

The Nationwide Health and Disability Advocacy service has a commitment to quality improvement and professional development. Advocacy practice is based on guidelines that are approved by the Minister of Health, a competency framework, a clearly defined model of advocacy, and a Code of Practice. These guide best practice and provide clarity about what consumers and complainants can expect from a health and disability advocate.

If you have any concerns about the advocacy service, contact the manager of the particular service concerned or write to the Director of Advocacy, HDC, PO Box 1791, Auckland or email advocacy@hdc.org.nz
