EASY READ Consultation About Doing Research With People Who Cannot Give Informed Consent

Some research involves people who are not able to say if they want to take part or not.

The Health and Disability Commissioner wanted to know what you thought about this.

The last day to give feedback to the Health and Disability Commissioner was Sunday 30 April 2017.

Submissions are now closed.

The Health and Disability Commissioner is now:

• thinking about what everyone has said about people who cannot give informed consent being part of research

• deciding what to tell the Government about whether changes are needed to the law on informed consent to be in research

• deciding whether the Code needs to be changed about informed consent to be in research.
