The National Advocacy Trust Board is
contracted by the Director of Advocacy to provide nationwide
advocacy services for consumers of health and disability
services.
The primary objective of this position is to uphold, safeguard
and promote the organisation's values and philosophy relating
particularly to ethics, integrity, and social responsibility. This
will be achieved through leadership, direction and coordination of
the activities of the team of eleven advocates based in Auckland
and Northland.
Preferred applicants will be able to demonstrate:
- Success in all aspects of management at a senior level,
preferably in the health or social services sector
- Good judgement and the ability to make decisions from an
evidence base
- Skills in defining objectives and working with others to track
progress and measure results
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities and ability to
build relationships
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity
- The temperament and objectivity required to understand
different views and take a problem solving approach
- Effective organisational and time management skills
- A willingness to share knowledge, contribute and be part of a
cooperative working team
- Computer literacy.
Previous experience in managing staff will be considered an
advantage.
