Executive Assistant - Proceedings

The Health and Disability Commissioner promotes and protects the rights of health and disability services consumers and facilitates the fair and efficient resolution of complaints relating to infringements of those rights. 

The Director of Proceedings decides whether to issue proceedings against health and disability service providers. The Director and her team conduct those proceedings and appear at hearings.  The Director is looking for an intelligent, enthusiastic and capable Executive Assistant on a part-time basis working for 25 hours per week.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • The ability to work proactively to co-ordinate and manage the administration of the Proceedings team operations
  • Skills and experience to provide efficient and accurate litigation support including the preparation of court documents, bundles, and liaison with witnesses and counsel. Litigation support experience is essential. 
  • Initiative, great organisational skills, attention to detail, and be an effective team player with excellent communication skills.

You are expected to have an understanding and acceptance of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and to ensure a culturally appropriate service.
