New video resources for consumers with learning disabilities
Published: 9 November 2020
The Health and Disability Commissioner and the Nationwide Health and Disability Advocacy Service have released a series of videos to help people with learning disabilities think about their own experiences with using disability services and their rights under the Code.
The videos were produced by Film for Change Aotearoa and made locally in Wellington with Wellington actors, including people who use disability services. Each video has a closed captions option, and the closed captions and slides have been transcribed into Word documents. Deaf Aotearoa has created New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) for each video.
Learn more about the videos and watch them here.
This letter is a response to a complaint HDC received regarding the Key to Life Charitable Trust's 1000 Letters Project. We are releasing the letter in response to a media enquiry we received regarding the project.
